Life journey

Thomas George Mottackal was born in 1953 at Edayaranmula, Pathanamthitta district of Kerala, India. He was a very curious and inquisitive child, ready to explore life and was loved by all known to him. Upon completion of his 10th (SSLC) he was among the few who got selected for Polytechnic Diploma in Electrical Engineering and came out successful bagging the Ist Rank. Soon he got into the Indian Air Force, dedicating 11 years to service to the Nation at Chandigarh and Srinagar. After which he relocated to Africa, Nigeria pursuing his area of expertise while working for Ocean Fisheries Private Limited as an Electrical Engineer.

A person always interested in taking up challenges, Thomas got himself deeply involved in this occupation, scaling up the ladder, finally growing to the position of the Shipyard Manager over a period of 8 years. Later on, he joined Pepsi Cola as a next major step toward career growth. Once while on vacation in the US, he was invited by friends to think about relocation. Thomas took it seriously and looked for an opportunity in the construction arena in the US. Thus in 1996, the turning point of his life happened with meeting Mr. Martin Eisner, a Jewish businessman. Thomas joined his company and soon Mr. Marty was impressed by his disciplined working model and perfection in all that he entered into. Thomas was not concerned about the financial benefits but rather the career growth was all that inspired him. Thomas became Marty’s first Management Employee and was instrumental in developing the organization into a stand-alone company, moved into a new space with a growth of $800,000 to $2200,000 per annum over a period of 3 years. Now came a time when Thomas decided he wanted to do something on his own, which was conveyed to Mr. Marty and he agreed to the same – thus giving rise to Tomar Constructions with a much stronger partnership with Mr. Marty.

Over the years, the greatest lessons in life are the reasons for his success. One of which is “ We should be willing to part with what we have, it will come back as ever ” one of the doctrines propagated by Mr. Thomas, a lesson which our new generation should learn and practice, to give up to get more. Just like the scripture depicts in the story of the Talents.
